Little David Baptist Church
Where a child shall lead them
About Us

"..and a child shall lead them," A little boy named David Singleton, the nephew of Pastor Emeritus and Mrs. Cole was with the family for six months.  The child touched so many lives, and to that end, God led Pastor Emeritus Cole to name the church "Little David."  Pastor and Sister Cole organized the church with six other believers.  Church services were held in one of the member's basement.  As the church began to grow, it was moved to Central High School, in Capitol Heights, MD.

After moving to Central High, we started Sunday School, three choirs, Children's Church, Usher's Ministry, Bible Study, and a spirit-filled prayer meeting.  Since we wanted a church building of our own, and its location in the Capitol Heights area, we prayed and searched continually for a building.  God answered our prayers in 1993.  He led us to 7830 Central Avenue where we have grown and God has given us the increase.  Members have been admonished to study and pray without ceasing.

They have also been trained to STUDY to show themselves approved.  We licensed young men into the ministry.  Some have gone on to become Pastors, Associate Ministers, and leader of evangelistic ministries.  These men never forget to remind people where they received their teaching and training.  In November, 2004, Little David was praying for someone to help with our Youth Ministry.  Pastor Melvin Witcher Sr. answered the call.  The Little David family thought that we had lost Pastor Witcher when he was soon called to the pastorate in Fredericksburg, VA.  Little did we know that God had other plans.  During the month of March, 2005, Pastor Cole had a medical procedure and after much prayer and the leading of the Holy Spirit, he stepped down from full-time pastorate.  Pastor Witcher became the interim pastor at Little David and was installed as our second shepherd on November 13, 2005.
